Gratefull Chattanooga

Gratefull is Causeway's annual city-wide Thanksgiving potluck. Every year on the Monday before Thanksgiving, we shut down a block on MLK Boulevard for Chattanoogans to come together and share a meal in the middle of the street at one long table.

We’re growing!

After five years of bringing together neighbors from across social boundaries for a shared meal, we are growing! One Table has already been replicated in Huntsville, Alabama, and Milan, Tennessee. Over the years we have had many other cities reach out with a desire to bring their neighbors together at their very own One Table. In order to be able to share the idea, One Table is now Gratefull. The name, brand, and replication guide are free for any city to use.

Save the Date: Monday, November 19th

Locally, everything remains the same: The Monday before Thanksgiving, we are shutting down the 200 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, inviting strangers and friends to gather and share a potluck meal in the middle of the street at one long table. There is no fee, no expectations, and no agenda—just an open invitation.

Date: Monday, November 19th
Time: 11:30 - 1:30
Location: The 200 block of MLK Boulevard in front of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center

Bring Food
Gratefull is a city-wide potluck! We will take care of the turkey and dressing, but we need your help with the rest. Please bring a side or a dessert to share in a disposable dish. Don’t feel like cooking? You can sign up to purchase a side through our friends at Dish t’ Pass and they will take care of the rest.

It takes a lot of helping hands to pull this event off every year. Sign up to volunteer for one of the three shifts: setup, serving, or cleanup.

Our generous sponsors make this event happen year after year, with any leftover proceeds going to support Causeway’s work year-round. Email us at to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
