After a season of significant rainfall, the library at Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts experienced a devastating blow: moldy books, soaked carpet, and ultimately a significant archive of knowledge discarded. The school district removed the carpet, installed tile, and waterproofed the walls. However, the shelves remained void of the books and materials that were lost. The library functions as an essential space for learning at CSLA. In 2012, the school successfully crowdsourced funds for revitalizing the library in a 21st-century kind of way: by securing 25 iPads to create a technology station for project-based learning.
