Walk through the doors of Hart Gallery on Main Street, and you’ll find a family. Homeless and transient individuals, low-income seniors, inner-city youth, persons with mental-health issues, and many others—all come together weekly to create. The nonprofit hosts art classes in different community spaces throughout the week. These classes and other community projects are developed and implemented by the artists and volunteer instructors. Many of the artists’ creations are displayed and sold in the gallery, with portions of proceeds going to support the artist and a local charity of their choice.
