Many people do not realize that sex trafficking occurs in Chattanooga daily. Second Life is a nonprofit organization that creates awareness to drive action that ends human trafficking in the Greater Chattanooga area. On January 11, 2013, the organization hosted their "Unite. Wear White." campaign to raise awareness for their cause and educate the community on how to end trafficking. Second Life partnered with Causeway to find volunteers and promote the campaign. Volunteers from all over the city worked together to get the word out prior to the event day. Hundreds of locals turned up for the event, held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, featured speaker Theresa Flores, trafficking survivor and author.
