Each month, a group of 20 people kick in $100 a piece to award micro-grants of up to $2,000 for awesome projects. The UNFoundation is challenging the established archetype of a philanthropist. Over the years, they have developed a positive track record, supporting projects that support youth development, urban gardening, public art, and more. Compared to the average philanthropist, their grantee’s age is younger and their demographic makeup is more diverse. With the right amount of money, connections, and resources, the UNFoundation seeks to improve the community as much as any traditional philanthropist.
